  1. I collect Star Wars Lego minifigures http://starwarslegocollectables.blogspot... and some are magnets - the arms, legs and head moves around normally but you cannot remove any parts. Meaning you cant take the body off or change the hat etc, they are glued on.

My son has many Star Wars Lego minifigures and the magnets ones with masks (the royal guards for example) you cannot take the helmet off., so the major things are glued on. And as collectables no-one really likes them.

  2. You CAN move their arms, legs, heads, etc. all around just like the regular minifigures (they can even bend their legs enough to "sit"). My sons have 27 Lego magnet minifigs & over 60 regular ones. The ONLY difference is that the TORSOS are fused; meaning  you can not separate their bodies & put on different legs. Other than that, they are completely interchangeable. My boys have Star Wars ones, Spongebob ones, Batman ones, & Lego city ones. They are able to take off Batman's mask, head, hands, & cape. Same thing with Robin, Catwoman, Penguin, Joker, Two-Face.

At my house, it's not uncommon to walk by the fridge (where the Lego magnet minifigure are kept) and see the Anakin body  with Yoda's head  wearing Batman's cape & carrying Darth Vader's light saber.

So, if you don't mind keeping their body & legs as a unit, the magnets are great.
