I heard of ppl having cars and getting plates in there name even tho that dont have driver License.

wouldnt they say something to you at tha sactery of state office???

  1. You do not have to have a driver's license to own a car.  However, most states do now require proof of insurance before they will issue license plates on one.  Laws vary by state, so check with your local branch for your state's requirements.

    Owning is not the issue. You can own a vehicle and plan on restoring an old one and not get plates on it until you are done.  You can own a car even though your driver's license has been revoked due to multiple tickets, DUI, etc. but getting plates without insurance, or insurance without a license are two entirely different matters.
