Can u report a rape still even though it happened when i was a minor? Its been 8 years?

When i was 12 i was raped by a 23 year old. just wanting to know if i can do anything now? ik there's a statue of limitation but what about after turning legal age bc it happened when i was a minor. it happened in minnesota. just would like some help or suggestions where i could find some answers.

Most States won't do anything after 5 years.

I don't believe there is a statute of limitations on child molestation. Hang the a**hole!

Yes, report it.  Because of your age at the time they might still be able to prosecute him.  In any case it should be in the police records in case other victims have come forward.    8 years is a long time and it would be hard to prove now but you should still report it.

You can report any crime that has occured at any time; whether the police can do anything about it is another. They would be the bet people to ask, I think.  If you have some proof of this attack, that would be very useful, otherwise, it may end up being your word against his.

I believe there is no statute for rape of a minor.  call the police or District Attorney's office.  how do you plan to prove this, by the way?  no s***n, no bruises, just your word against his.  very difficult case to prosecute.
