  1. Yes you can, there is a slightly (repeating SLIGHTLY) lower risk of getting pregnant when you BF but that's all.

  2. yes i had a friend who nursed her 2nd and got pregnant with 3rd nursed 3rd and got pregnant with 4th nursing alone is not enough

  3. Well typically it is harder to get pregnant while breast feeding- but this is not a means of birth control. Since you ovulate before your period, if you are not using birth control you could easily become pregnant before you even got a first period. Every body is different and handles the hormones differently. Doctors cant give straight answers because there isnt one. I think you should use a more reliable method of birth control if you do not want to become pregnant again.

  4. Yes...breastfeeding does not stop you from getting pregnant.

  5. YOU CAN...my sister had her 2nd baby because someone told her you can't get pregnant while breastfeeding. LIES...if and only if the following 3 things are true, then and only then do you have only a 2% chance of getting pregnant.

    1. you haven't had your period in 2 months

    2. you breastfeed every 3 hours like clockwork

    3. you do not give ANY formula to your baby, you breast feed exclusively

    I wouldn't risk it though

  6. Yes! Breastfeeding is not enough to stop you from getting pregnant.

  7. You can ABSOLUTELY get pregnant while breastfeeding.  I worked in a high risk Ob unit as a nurse and saw it happen more than once.

  8. Yes. That's how my husband got here. :-)  My mother-in-law got pregnant with him when his older brother was 5 months old, and she didn't worry about pregnancy so soon because she was breastfeeding.

  9. Yes you can.  I got pregnant with my 4th when my 3rd was only 5 months old.  And I would only breastfeed him.

  10. yes! i just saw an episode of "a baby story" on TLC and there was a couple that that happened to.  she didnt find out she was preg. till she was 15 wks cause she didnt think you could get pregnant while breastfeeding...

  11. You can deffiantly get pregnant while breastfeeding!

I just delivered a baby less than 3 weeks ago that was conceived while I was breastfeeding!

  12. Yes, it's possible to get pregnant while breast feeding.

But when done properly, breast feeding is also a valid form of birth control.  However, like many all forms of birth control (save abstenance) there is a failure rate.

The problems with using breast feeding as a form of birth control is that it is not very reliable.  When done properly (which includes insuring the baby is EXCLUSIVELY breast feed), it is very effective.  But most people begin adding solids to baby's diet, usually by 6 months (and many do so even earlier, even though it isn't neccessary).  Once the baby is started on solids, you can't be sure at what point you're still breast feeding enough to prevent pregnancy.  So once the process of waning the baby at all begins, the dependability of breast feeding begins to wane as well.

  13. yes you can

  14. yes you can my cousin was four months and stopped breastfeeding b/c the milk tasted weird and it was b/c my aunt was preg with my other cousin...
