  2. Well, in 1982 when I graduated, mine was to have a Z80 based micro computer program music. There was a H/W and S/W component. The hardware component was an 8 bit d to a and an audio amp. The S/W component was to nested loops, one controlling pitch the other duration.

The S/W controlled to parallel port of the microcomputer, the hardware took the output of the parallel port and converted it to an analog signal and amplified. it.

    Programming was done in assembler.

  3. You should choose something with three goals:

    1) Multiple stages of development, so that if you can't get it all done in time then the early stages will at least give you a working product.

    2) Something that will impress a future employer, which is what you're going to need when you go for your first job interview.

    3) Something that will add to your universities prestige. By which I mean something they can use to impress the government purse holders, or something that local business might be interested in (see #2), or something that they can use to help train/teach undergraduates e.g. a piece of software for digital circuit simulation or PCB design.

I'd recommend something more specific, but if you want the really good grades then it'll depend on which engineering fields your particular uni specializes in. Care to post an update here as to which one you're at?

  4. You can check for the projects and some related matter through the resources and project section of a social networking site : www.indiastudychannel.com.
