  1. You can, but it's better to learn how to do one. It feels awkward  at first, but it's not difficult once you get the hang of it.

  2. yea u can but you probably wont be that fast. but learn how, they're easy. =]

  3. any touch is legal as long as you don't hang on the edge when you turn; try doing that without the flip, it's very time consuming.

  4. Yes, flip turns aren't hard and they won't take you much time to learn. My advice would be to go to your local pool during open swim and just practice doing front flips. When you've got that down go over to the wall and try to do a flip turn.

  5. yes b/c if you don't know they will most likely teach you how. your first day! I don't know one swim team where teaching you how to do a flip turn is a HUGE problem.

  6. Not at all. Unless ur under 10. You may wanna try breaststroke or Butterfly, no flips!!!

  7. yes you can do butterfly and breaststroke, no flip turn required

  8. ya you can. it might slow you down though compared to the swimmers tht know how to do them. but once you practice a flipturn a few times youll get the hang of it!! and if your worried trust me it will be fine!!!
