Im on my period, and its the second day of it, so for me its still kinda heavy. Ive had it for about a year and a half and ive never gone swimming while on it. Its really hot today, and my friends are going swimming and im not sure if i can. I dont use tampons, and im not planning on using them either. I dont have a bathing suit right now, so id be in shorts and a t-shirt. Can i still swim? I know that when i take a bath on my period, the water doesnt become red or anything (eiw) but i dont want to completely embaress my self just in case? what should i do?

  1. tampons work even when heavy... some doctor said that when in water your period gets lighter... and were a dark bathing suit not light.... just in case!!!

  2. the best and safest way istoo use a tampon

or not to go swimming at all

i thought itd b hard but it was easier than i thougth to put one on

jus mak sure you put it on right

    otherwise you shuld b fine(:

  3. no the only way you can is if you are wearing a tampon... so if i were u i'd wait until ur period is over

  4. since its the second day..

    u probably shouldnt.

y don u go have a cold shower while they r swimming or sumthing.

    hope helps.

    :))

  5. please dont, its not on fro the other swimmers yuck

  6. I wouldn't go swimming unless i was wearing a tampon.

  7. You should REALLY use a Tampon. Itll keep you protected and everything...

  8. hahha what do u thin k tampons are for?

  9. you can only go swimming if you use a tampon.

  10. you have to wear a tampon. don't wear a pad though they get waterlogged. bring extras tampons if you're planning on swimming for more than 2 hours. since your still heavy, you might want to change at the latest every 2 to 3 hrs.

  11. Noooooooooo

  12. put a tampon in, bring a few extras if you need!

  13. you just gotta suck it up and use a tampon and i know at first it really sucks and everyone probably always tells you oh once you get the idea of it its fine but thats true you just gotta get used to the idea of wearing one and then youll be glad once you get the hang of it cause then you can go swimming. can i have best answer?

  14. Hey the issue is not whether u can go to swim?

u can do whatever u want to..

the question here , is that  wont it be yuxxx , unhygienic  for the others who hav come for to swim..

  15. contrary to common belief YOUR PERIOD DOESNT STOP IN THE WATER!!!!!!!!!

  16. If you don't feel comfortable while wearind a tampon then you shouldn't go swimming. But if you do go swimming without it then if the water starts gettingp pink or red then just make an excuse to get out of the pool to go to the restroom or something. If your period is still going then just tan or stay out of the pool for awhile. If you still feel hot just wade your feet in the pool under shade or something.

  17. No, if you are not using tampons, I would not recommend swimming (if that means you are using pads) because the pad will fill with water and become like a full nappy. Bad idea. You could use tampons for swimming only?

  18. You actually STOP bleeding when you are in water!  No worries!!

  19. If you were in a bathing suit and a natural body of water, I'd say go for it, but since you're in clothes and if you're using a pool I'd probably "take the plunge" and use a tampon.

  20. you can swim.. but u mite get pretty embarrased wen everyone sees blood in the pool.

so its not a good idea.

  21. you stop bleeding in cold water so you'd be fine as long as you went to the bathroom as soon as you get out. but there's really no reason to be afraid of tampons. they sounds weird and scary but once you learn how to use them they are much more comfortable and easier than a pad.

  22. yes you can i tried it and i didn't get a stain

  23. Yes you can go swim . only if you are wearing a tampon

  24. i would use a tampon its really not that big of a deal and you cant wear a pad either because once it hits the water itl get really icky like a babys diaper when they go swimming. basicly a tampon is your only option sry

  25. yeah all you have to do is eat a lot of bread and it absorbs your period

  26. i dont use public pools,

but my period stops in the water.

    i wouldnt suggest it.

    but wear a tampon.

  27. Its called a tampon.

  28. t a m p o n.

get the little ones if you've never tried them. of just ask one of your friends for one. trust me you don't want to go unless you have one bc that could turn into something truely embarrassing.

  29. Well without a tampon I think it would be a little uncomfortable wearing a pad because it is gonna soak up a lot of water. IT is do-able, I just wouldn't.  I know that tampons can be intimidating but I promise once you try them you would never go back to pads. With a tampon, you are not bloody all day and you stay dry. You should really give it a try. But yea to answer you question, yes you can still swim. Water and the pressure usually stops the bloodflow for a short time anyway.

  30. Use tampons change every hour at least

  31. If you wear an appropriate tampon, it should be fine.
