  1. you need to check with a doctor or pharmacist. i would suggest taking both medicines to your local pharmacy and asking them.

  2. Atrovent (ipratopium) is a bronchodilator.  It has what is called anti cholinergic effect, and should use caution upon taking any other anti cholinergic.  Anti cholinergics are things that speed your body up - related to the fight or flight response or adrenaline rush.

Pholocodine is a cough suppressant, and has none of these effects.  It works on the opposite effect and slows things down.  I can't find any interactions, but it says to take caution is asthma and not to use in some infections.

Did two different doctors prescribe two different medications? If so, did you tell the second what the first prescribed for you?

  3. Ring a pharmacy and speak to a pharmacist - better be safe than sorry.

  4. Your inhaler is a bronchodilater- it opens up the airways to help you breathe easier

The pholcodeine is a cough suppressant to stop you coughing.

It looks as if the two will cancel out one another

It wont harm you but it wont help either.

I suggest you leave off the linctus and just take it at bed-time.

Your best idea would be to phone your doctors surgery and ask someone there(tomorrow)
