Yes, there are also now phones that are airline compliant which means you may even use them while in the air.  However for the average joe (me) you simply need to turn it off when flying.  You may use it on the ground when the pilot tells you it is okay.

yeahhhhhh. but they say to turn them off when your landing and when your taking off. i turned mine on in the middle, and i had no service whatsoever.obviously because your wayy too high for the service lines to reach

and yes you can take it on a plane but you have to turn it off before you take off. the captain will say it over the loud speaker.

Yeah. but you should turn it off when you go through security. because phone are not supposed to be on. when the plane is taking off. but once you're in the air you can use it to your liking. just turn it off when they are landing. and till the pilot gives instructions you can do otherwise. but to me that is a lot of hassle. you can just turn it off and just wait till you exit the plane.

Yes, but you must turn it off when the door closes.

You can not use the phone when the plane is in the air.

Once  you land they will tell you when you can turn your phone on and use it.
