yes you can.  i have found it easier. gerbils are naturally curious so they arent scared of you.  they can be hard to catchbecause of their active nature but they dont bite.  i have handled one of my male gerbils so much that he actually purrs in my hands.

never hamster are the best gerbils are hard to tame and they are aggressive and hard to catch becuase they are fatser than a puma!

You can tame a gerbil if you get it young enough and handle it. Most gerbils are bought and stuck in a cage with no handling at all and thats what make them wild and bite. I have had tons of gerbils and have never been bitten by one.

Hi,

I am a gerbil breeder, and have been for several years.  Gerbils can definitely be tamed just as easily as hamsters.  Just try and hand feed them treats every day.. they most likely won't eat them, but it gets your scent on it anyway, and helps them get used to the idea that you are their friend.  Lay your gloved hand in their cage for them to crawl on/in...  and hold them inside their cage.  After a while, take them out of their cage to hold them, and if they stop biting then you no longer need the gloves..

some say gerbils are harder to tame, but as long as they are young you can, for sure!
