  1. The best sushi in NYC is at Masa at the Time Warner Center...but, dinner is 400per person excluding tax,tip and drinks.

Otherwise there are about 1500 sushi restaurants in NYC....it shouldnt be hard to find one..Check the phone book.

  2. Most japanese restaurants that offer sushi have seating in front of the chef's area so you can watch him or her make the sushi. Some are larger than others but the majority of these are small so if you're going to have a large party, it probably won't work.  Honestly after the first couple of pieces of sushi, it's not all that thrilling anymore anyway.

My favourite place in Manhattan is Yuka at 82nd and 2nd Avenue.  It's small, all the staff (including the sushi chefs) greet you as you walk in whether they know you or not, the portions are large and the sushi always very fresh and  excellent. They have an all you can eat sushi deal for people on a budget as well.

They have cooked dishes but I've never ordered any of them.

  3. One of the most popular sushi spots among my foodie friends is Sushi Yasuda in Midtown East. The sushi experience is an authentic one. A lot of sushi spots that were once great have slipped a lot in recent years (Jewel Bako for example).
