Can u text while your on a cruise?

I found that I could call from the Southern coastlines when going on Carri bean cruises.  Once in the open water it really costs, but worth it if you have something going on at home and you need the connection while away!

Well when your on a cruise, you'll get a very poor signal, if a signal at all, because your in the middle of the sea.

Plus if you do get a signal, you will probably be in a different network region, meaning your sms messages, internet access, and ringing people will cost alot more

i don't think you can text on the ship because there is no service. my friend recently got back from a cruise and she said she couldn't text while on the cruise. but when she got on the ports like the land parts she could text. but also she said your too busy and having fun you don't even wanna text. but i think you can still like take pics with it and stuff. hope it helped.

Im additiced to texting and when i went on a cruise i turned it off for 4 days ! it was really good for me. i think you should turn if off for the days you are on the cruise, then when you get back you'll have a ton of messages(: But you can usually get some service on the ports of call(:

I texted and used my cell phone when I was on a Mexican cruise from San Diego to Mexico. I didn't notice any extra charges on my bill and I wasn't roaming. I use Verizon.

Most or all cruise ships now have phone capability as do most of the islands you visit in the Caribbean.  The only island which I know of not having phone text messaging or calling capability was Aruba.  While on a cruise, a passenger in front of us called home from every island; she found she could not do it from Aruba.
