Can u use VOIP phone, Y! Messenger phone out or similar service to connect to dial-up internet?

And how? If it's a service like Vonage I understand they have a physical phone installed where you could connect it to the modem to make dial-up calls.

If it's Y! Messenger then how would you use that number you buy from it to dial-up?

  1. No.  Not enough bandwidth.


  2. It is possible in come cases.  But VOIP is voice over IP, so if you already have an internet connection, why do you need dial-up?

    Although, I know someone who had Time Warner cable TV and phone (VOIP), and before she had cable internet, I was able to use dial-up on her phone.  Speed might be limited to 33K max.
