Can u use a big raccoon trap for a snapping turtle?

I caught a huge snapper last weekend on hot dogs and corn.Thought it was a plastic bag at first lol.

the big conibear coon trap is humane but closes on the victims body it won`t crush the shell.So the turtle will escape.the best leg hold trap will hold the turtle for a short period, but unfortunately he will chew his own leg off to escape.not ethical or humane. and trapping a turtle with either maybe illegal in almost all states check your fish and game laws. best way is to live trap the bugger and transport to a new location. Or if legal in your state have him for dinner. fixed right they are excellent.
