Can u wash a shirt rite after te-dying it and its dry. or will it fade?

me and my best friend tye-dyed shirts and i dont want it to fade after the first wash so how can i wash it?

Me and my sister have dyed so many shirts okay here's what you should do. Right after you tye-dye a shirt you have to leave it in like a plastic bag and let it soak overnight. After that you rinse it off (i just rinsed it in the shower) and squeeze it alot to get the extra dye off. After that it's safe to wash it. Make sure that you wash it by itself-it can be washed with other tye dye t-shirts just not with regular clothes. If you got good dye it shouldn't fade after you wash it, but ya know, with cheap dye it will probaly fade after you wash it a couple times. But it's important that you wash it before wearing it cause the dye can come off and get on your skin or outer/under wear. After you wash it you can dry it in the dryer at the coolest setting or if you hang it out to dry make sure it's not too sunny outside becuase if it is it can really fade out the shirt.
