Depending on the size of the chain and if it has any religious symblism.  You can wear a small chain with a cross or somehting along those lines.

Absolutely not!  You aren't even authorized to wear it in uniform period!  Once you complete basic and have liberty, you can wear it all you want, but you will not be able to wear it at all while wearing uniform.  The only thing you are entitled to wear as jewelry are wedding bands and religious material, given that you do not have a gold chain with a cross on it!  You'll learn the order of uniform authorization while in basic!

BE ADVISED:  I hear responses about watches are authorized in Basic.  That must be an Air Force thing.  However, if you are enlisting into the Marine Corps, you will not be entitled to have wear a watch during basic-you have to earn the title of a Marine to wear a watch in uniform!  I'm a Marine, so whatever I posted is Marine Corps related!

Sure you can wear it there but as soon as you get there it will be removed and sent home so if you don't want to risk it getting lost/broken/stolen leave it home.  Don't make yourself a target by wearimg bling bling kind of jewelry if that is what kind of chain you were thinking about.  You will just get really negative attention and be a target the rest of the time you are there because they will think you don't have any common sense.  This goes for clothing that will call attention to yourself, this would be like females that wear t-shirts that say Princess on them or guys that wear shirts that say Player on them.  Try to blend into your surroundings as much as possible on day one.  Good luck.

Only necklaces that are allowed are those with religious medallions ...and a big 4''  fake gold cross on a 24'' fake gold chain don't cut it.

You're not going to pass as 'cool' in boot camp so forget it.  You're just going to be number, not number 1 anymore.

15 years ago my husband was allowed one small religious emblem, for high school graduation/leaving for boot camp i (we were dating then) i bought him a gold chain and a cross.  he still has it and it has seen many places and many things, but he still wears it.

If it is a religious thing yes, if it is merely jewelry the answer is no, not in uniform.  And a religious icon must be concealed from view while in uniform.  Good luck to you.
