Hi,

I had my u/s at 20 weeks and 3 days .techinican told me its a girl ..my doctor also told me by looking at the pictures that he is pretty sure that its a girl and we can buy girl's stuff but keep the recepit in case as nothing is 100% sure...I does believe on the ultrasound tech and doctor's saying as i did see 3-4 line that supports female gender.

But have a little fear if it finally proved wrong.. Has any one faced tis situation that u/s showed 3-4 line and both tech and doc very pretty sure that baby is going to be a girl but it acutally end up as a boy??? I really want to know if any one.

  1. During an ultrasound when determining the s*x, they don't just look for presence or absence of male parts, they look for the labia in girls. Your dr. is right, I had a friend who was having twins and they told her that they were boys and they BOTH ended up being girls!! She said that they mistook the cord as penises. I think the experience of the technician can play a big role as to how accurate they are. I think that if you got a 3-D ultrasound during the beginning of your 3rd trimester and they were able to get some gender pics then that would be as sure as you can get about the gender through ultra sound. My friend with her twin girls is the ONLY one that I've personally known that has been told the wrong thing. Hopefully you will have another ultra sound before too long, the further along you are and the bigger your baby is, the better they can tell.

  2. really you never know, but these days ultrasounds are so clear id be confident your baby was a girl.

they werent wrong about my baby.

the mass majority of stories you hear where the ultrasound was wrong about the s*x took place at least 10 years ago and before

    good luck!

  3. You could get a 3-D us just to be real sure.

  4. sorry but YOU NEVER KNOW!  I've heard of the us being wrong.  There is a DNA test at home..they guarentee the results!

  5. They are not 100%, its not the ultrasound that would be wrong though but the tech that it looking at it. As long as they have a good look at the genitals they should be able to tell you for sure.

  6. I didn't have a problem, they told me i was having a girl and i did. But i also had to get an ultrasound every week the last 2 months of my pregnancy to check my fluid.

Now i know of someone, a friend of mine who was told they were having a girl and he came out a boy so they had to sell all their girl stuff and buy boy things so it's not impossible.

Just remember to ask if you have more ultrasounds to check and make sure it's a girl.

  7. Yeah it happens, but I would think if the doctor saw the 3 lines then it's a girl. :) doctors can't say for 100%. They aren't allowed to. too many cases of them saying 100% then being wrong and people sueing them, so alot of hospitals aren't even allowed to tell you a gender anymore.

I'd say it's a girl, and don't worry about it being a boy.. go out and buy pink. :) congrats!

  8. i pretty confident it's a gurl.

  9. you can always opt to pay for a 3-D scan they are much more accurate. But I would say that about 95% if the time they are right

  10. It's a girl!

  11. The chances of your scan being wrong are very slim!!

I had 2 boys and a girl they were all right even though i was iffy on the my daughters!! I really didn't think i would ever get a girl. So i had them do a second scan lol.

She is all girl!! We are expecting another baby in December!!

I can't wait to find out the gender.

most that are wrong are techs who just don't see male parts, then assume the baby is a girl. However seeing the three lines means it's a girl.

Here is a link to a site that has lots and lots of ultrasounds of boys and girls. So you can compare your picture  to their pictures!!! Congratulations

  12. My friend was told she was having a boy and had a girl.  I am not sure how you see male parts that are not there, but they did!!
