I have 6 weeks Family Leave. Can I use this as a family vacation out of country while bonding with new baby. I know a lot of people use these as go to their countries like India, China etc. But is it legal or can my employer refuse to give me this time off.

Thanks

Sally

  1. Oh yes, baby bonding can be done anywhere - there are no place or time limitations. Enjoy a nice trip with your baby :)

  2. It's none of your employers' business where you decide to spend your family leave.  As far as they are concerned you are spending your leave "not at the office" so beyond that is your prerogative.

  3. once you are approved for your FMLA leave there is absolutely no reason that you have to tell your employee what your doing while on your leave!
