Can used oil well pipe and natural gas well pipe be radio active?

Why would you think used oil well or gas pipes be radioactive?  Almost anything could be radioactive if exposed to atomic or nuclear radiation but ONLY if they are exposed to it. There are pipelines for both oil and natural gas running from Texas to the refineries in New Jersey.  Do you honestly think the oil companies, or States, or Fed. govt. would allow any of those pipes if they were radioactive??????

After 50 years in the business, that's one problem that has never arisen but, I can't say whether or not it's possible.
