Can using a higher voltage ac adapter damage a digital camera?

I'm using a Power Shot A520 and found an ac adapter that says DC 9 volts and the req volt on the camera says DC IN 3.15v.

  1. Call the Canon help line 800.OK.CANON.

    My guess is that you need to buy the adapter that Canon makes for your camera.  Period


  2. Let's see you are asking if you should prove your camera with approximately 3 times the voltage it requires? NO!!!!!!!

  4. DONT DO IT. Your digital camera is a small computer and should only be used at recommended voltage. This much over will wreck it.
