I'm nearsighted and i want to get contacts so that i can see longer distances away without my glasses. If i wear contacts all of the time, even reading and using the computer, will that damage my eyesight? will my nearsightedness worsen?

  1. no it shouldn't but wearing contacts too much can damage your eyes in general. Make sure the contacts are cleaned daily.

  2. Yes, it will worsen. Only use them when you need them.

  3. ya i tried to fail my eye test so i could get them then i got them and now i really cant see

  4. no but take them of before bed or they can hurt your eyes but not permently

  5. Only an optometrist or an  ophthalmologist can give you the correct answer.  My "guess" is that the strain of reading too much would cause your eyes to ache with or without contacts.  Contacts generally don't cause problems unless they are dirty, torn or the wrong prescription.

  6. i've been wearing them for over 20 years and my eyesight has changed very little in that time frame, and I have great eyesight.  But you need to see your eye doctor because everyone is different.

  7. ask your eye doctor...

  8. yes the more u wear them the worse ur eyes start to rely on that. it happend 2 me

  9. I wear contacts and glasses. Over time, your eyes will grow more dependent on the visual aid, so yes. My eyesight without glasses has worsened dramatically since I've started wearing them regularly.

  10. they wont hurt if they are non prescription ones which donot affect your vision at all. but if you are wearing a pair with a prescription and that was not prescribed to you then yes it will hurt your vision.
