Question:

Can vaccinated dogs contract rabies?

We have spotted several bats and a few raccoons in our area recently. We live in a suburb of a large city in ohio and have a fenced in yard. Our dog has been spending alot of time outside since our daughter was born and I was wondering if it is still possible for our dog to contract rabies from other animals if he is up to date on all of his vaccinations. He is very high energy and very curious which is why he is outside more now!

Thank you,

E
