Can varicose veins be first sign of pregnancy ? ?

my period is due ... my breast is sore painfull and larger nipples and blue veins which were not visible before ....after getting up from the bed i went to the kitchen to prepare the breakfast ...i felt my veins getting twisted in the lower leg ...then reliased a light then dark blue veins in the same area which looks like varicose veins ...am i pregnant ?..or is this a serious illness...please help me ...im worried ...thank you

never herd of that being a first sign of pregnancy, i know it can happen towards the end due to all the extra weight, i think somthing else may be very wrong here, you should speak to someone who is medically trained, try NHS direct 0845 4647

i dont think so,, that is from being on your feet alot and putting strain on your legs. plus heredity

Varicose veins are not usually a first sign of pregnancy..they can be a later sign when all the extra weight the mom is carrying causes the blood to pool in her extremities. But all the breast changes you described can be symptoms of early pregnancy. Have you taken a test?

There is a greater risk of getting varicose veins during pregnancy although this may be a sign of pregnancy but not a first sign of pregnancy.
