  1. Tomato kabobs would be iffy, but mushrooms, zuchinni, squash, onions, potatoes, and eggplant are amazing when grilled!!  Also, just hit up the freezer or produce section of most grocery stores, even in small towns you'll find a plethora of cruelty-free products!!  Tofu and seitan are really great grilled also!!

  2. Yes! OH MY GOSH THEY'RE GOOD!

I thread cherry tomatoes, onion chunks, pineapple, bell pepper, and mushrooms onto skewers and grill them. Marinate them in vinaigrette. So nice!

One more good idea is a whole grilled portabello cap (take off the step) or thick slice of eggplant. Marinate them in regular bottled Italian dressing. So nice.

You can also do fake burgers/hot dogs.

  3. It is more trouble than it is worth, vegetable kabobs, smoked jalapenos, the vege-burgers don't do very well...so I gave up...

  4. I have never done it personally, but in the July/August issue of Vegetarian Times magazine, there were several kebab recipes.  Most of them were vegan, and there was at leas one with tomatoes.

  5. You have never had grilled vegetables?

  6. tomato kebabs may not work but there are a lot of mock meats in the market that can be bbqed

there are also veggie dogs and burgers that taste great on the grill, they're in the freezer section of most supermarkets

you can make veg kebabs by making a simple marinade, either use ready made bbq sauce or make your own by blending up some parsley, basil, mint, salt, pepper, cilantro, cumin powder, lemon juice, sugar, serrano chillies, onion, garlic, ginger

marinade things like tofu, parcooked potatoes, bell peppers, pieces of onion, zucchini, squash, eggplant

skewer them on a stick and bbq it up

  7. grilled fruits also make great kebabs. Check out your local super Walmart for recipe cards in the between the produce and meat departments.

  8. This question sounds pretty trollish, but I will answer it anyway for the sake of the vegans who will read it.

Yes, as a matter of fact vegans can BBQ.  I don't know why on earth anyone would think we can't.

Meat eaters put vegetables on their flesh kabobs, so we could make the same thing only without meat.  You could use chunks of onion, pepper, tomato, squash and any other type of vegetable.

Corn on the cob cooked on the grill is also fantastic.  You can grill it right in the husk if you soak it overnight.

There are also many meat substitutes that would be perfect for the grill, they just don't need to be grilled as long.  There are smart dogs, which incidentally we will be having tonight for dinner...tofu pups, bean burgers, veggie burgers, chick'n patties, and a lot of things that can be grilled.

This question is even more proof that people think vegans are different.  We are pretty much the same despite the fact that we don't eat meat.  We eat everything but animal products...That doesn't mean we sit around eating rice all the time...LOL...I actually do eat a lot of rice, but that doesn't mean I am weird.

  9. Yeah, sure they can. In the past I've cooked banana on a BBQ. Personally, I would choose not to go to a BBQ here everyone  is eating meat. Not in protest, but because outside with the wind and all that, the smell or dead meat gets right up you nostrils and into your hair and I wouldn't be able to breathe in.

  10. yes why not. grilled vegetables are tasty

  11. yup!
