  1. YEAH!!!!

    imma vegan :]

  2. Yes, it comes from sugar cane...

You might want to do some more research before you go vegan. It takes a lot of work, and you have to be fully commited. You have to be sure to do it the healthy way. Try consulting your doctor or a nutritionalist. I think that you're making a great decision =)

  3. Cane is not meat, you're not killing anything except a living plant that's trying to thrive and live and bore it's spawn to carry on it's genre, but don't let that bother you.   Actually a plant is a living thing, it bears children and it mates with other plants around it, via bee's and other benficial insects.  But you can make up you on mind.  Everything is renewable in moderation..........you are hungry aren't you?

  4. yes ... should be able to.

But then again, if you're so concerned about preserving nature's life...

    why the trees.

    why kill the trees.

  5. Of course, why not!?

  6. vegan means you don't eat anything that comes from an animal at all, and sugar and coffee beans come from plants, so yes you can still eat them.

  7. SOME vegans shun refined sugar. It's not in the definition to do so, however.

    It's all up to you!

  8. Some companies use animal bones in the process of filtering the sugar. However, you won't be eating the bones, so I guess you decide whether or not you'll eat sugar.

  9. Not to rude but, sugar cane is a plant. Isn't it? So eat it. It in almost every recipe you can find.

  10. As usual, most people pipe up and answer the sugar question without the first clue of what they're talking about.  Apres Vous has it right.  Most of the refined cane sugar on the market is filtered through charred animal bones.  If you live in a part of the country where beet sugar is widely available, it's a vegan-friendly option.  Otherwise, look for brands like Florida Crystals or Whole Foods 365 Vegan Cane Sugar.  And, of course, there are plenty of alternatives to sugar.

Coffee is less an animal rights concern than a human rights concern.  I never drink the stuff, but if I did I'd look for fair trade, shade grown coffee, not because I'm vegan but because it's the responsible thing to do.

  11. yes. sugar comes from a plant.

  12. Sugar coooomes from Sugar cane.....yes like everyoooone said b4 me...it groows from the grooound (hehe i extended all my "oooooo"s...)doooon't eat jelloooo oooor anything with geletan....soooorry your mssin oooout oooon the jelloooo but geletan comes from piggies...pooooooooooor piggy.....jelloooooos still awesoooooome

  13. yeah,

  14. if you want sugar in your coffee, just have it!

  15. Vegans can eat sugar BUT refined white sugar is NOT vegan because it is processed and filtered through animal bone char.

The best thing to get to substitute regular white sugar is raw sugar, organic sugar, agave nectar, natural sugar cane, evaporated cane juice, stevia, etc.

PROCESSED WHITE SUGAR IS NOT VEGAN.

Coffee is vegan, but many vegans only buy fair-trade coffee because most of the time coffee plantation workers are abused, get low wages, work in unbearable conditions, etc.  A fair-trade label on coffee ensures that the workers were not mistreated to harvest the beans.

  16. yeah
