Can vegans eat yeast?

Question

because i heard yeast comes from the clear part of eggs or something?

idk but i'm a new vegan and i just wanted to make sure it was alright to eat yeast products

yes, in fact yeast is very good for you. Its not from egg at all it is fungi and there are some great vegan yeast pates out there so dont miss out. It is very confusing i know when you first become vegan. But answers is a good place to get your answers from other vegans also check out this website.

if you do make sure you do not eat too much of it because remeber as nasty as is sounds as a women you do not want a yeasy infection! just saying be careful i never had ont but i heard there not something you wanna deal with of course

Yes, yeast isn't an animal, it's a fungus, which is a plant.

Yes vegans can eat yeast... and they can drink beer/wine  (made with yeast) and eat breads (made with yeast).

Half the vegans around would give it up if they couldn't drink beer/wine.

Vegans don't eat anything with a nervous system or feel pain.  Yeast cannot feel pain so I would suspect it is acceptable.

Yeast is a fungi. They belong to the same kingdom as mushrooms. So the answer is yes vegans do eat yeast and it does not come from eggs!

Emily O is wrong it is not a plant , , , it does not contain chlorophyll so can therefore not feed from photosynthesis. it feeds through extracellular digestion.
