Vegans don't just abstain from foods that come from animals, we abstain from all foods than contain any ingredients that come from any animal.

Chocolate is completely vegan until humans start messing with it. Most "commercial" chocolate is milk chocolate, which is obviously not vegan. A lot of darker chocolates and organic chocolates are vegan. Cocoa powder and chocolate sauce are usually vegan, as are a some chocolate chips.

No. Because it contains milk. Look for Vegan friendly chocolate. They will use Soya Milk.

Vegetarians can eat chocolate though.

Dark chocolate without milkfat is vegan.  There are some "milk" chocolate vegan bars too.  I believe they're made with soy milk.

nope, sorry. chocolate might not come from an animal, but the milk does. vegans don't eat milk, thus not eating chocolate. some chocolates are made lactose free though, and those are vegan

Uh, chocolate comes from a plant which is a living thing.

Vegan people do not consume products from ANIMALS, we don't avoid things that come from living organisms.

Milk chocolate is not vegan but many dark chocolates are vegan and there are some non-dairy-milk chocolates.

It's the milk that is not vegan.  Cocoa is vegan by itself.  Dark chocolate is vegan most times, but like with everything else you have to read the ingredients.

I myself like to bake with dark chocolate.  I bake vegan cakes and brownie...I also make a mean peanut butter chocolate rice crispy treat!

Given that you have canine teeth in your mouth, veganism is just silly.

Vegetarianism (though I personally think that's silly, too) can at least be justified based on the cruelty of many modern farming methods...

Vegans can have chocolate as long as it's pure. Most of the candy bars and eating chocolates that you see in the grocery store contain dairy.

Any chocolate that has milk in it(milk chocolate), you should stay away from if you are a vegan(even if you aren't, you should stay away from any kind of animal product).  Stick with dark chocolate(but still read the ingredients though just in case).  Get organic dark chocolate too if you can.
