arsenal and man u have taken a step back from last year,

where as villa just keep on improving and dont have the handicapp of carson anymore

LOL if only they could finish 2nd. Im a villa fan and I know that isn't going to happen anytime soon. I think we can get there but not for a good few years yet! Top 6- hopefully 4th but i think realistically 5th/6th

They let Man City score 2 goals! One was thanks to a dive, but AV defenders were not too impressive today. 5th place would be great, especially if Barry does end up leaving

NO i dont think so. you say that arsenal have taken a step back from last year how have they won there first game and man utd always start bad but after the first 5 or 6 games they gain there form and go into the top 4

Haha not yet I'm afraid. As a Villa fan I don't think we are title contenders yet and I think you are hugely overreacting with reguards to Arsenal and Manchester United. Top 4 for us is not out of the question at all but 2nd is 2 or 3 steps too far at the moment.

I'd be very happy with another top 6. Last season 6th was tainted because it wasn't enough to qualify automatically for Europe because of the cups.(We are very unlucky as the same happened in 04 when Boro won the Carling and Millwall got to FA Cup final!) Anything below top 6 would be disappointing to say the least. ALso a good run in Europe would be nice but not at the expense of a good domestic campain.

We still need another striker in our squad and a right-sider.

Yes Brad Friedel is a brilliant signing. Carson before THAT England game was very impressive and confident but after that he was a shadow of his former self. Friedel is an expierenced, top quality, confident goalkeeper and one of the best in the country.

Oh yeah finally we concede far too many late goals. It cost us alot of points last season and today we thought the game was finished on 87 minute. We need to keep going until the whistle is blown.
