today i read a post from my friend about a virus called 'Akram Mohamed Elsamadouni'.

here is the post '“If someone by the name of Akram Mohamed Elsamadouni wants to add you to their list, don’t accept it. It’s a virus. Tell everyone on your list because if somebody on your list adds them you will get it, too. It is a hard drive killer and a very horrible virus. Please pass this on to everyone on your list. We need to find out who is using this account. Sorry for the inconvenience. Copy and paste in a new bulletin for all your friends,'

lots of my friends have sent it to me. is this real or just a kind of spam? can virus spread via facebook?

  1. i once added an application that didn't do anything

    i removed it

i then logged out and found out that someone or something had sent 150 messages on people's walls telling them to look at this website of girls in bikinis on webcams

I NEVER add applications now and always log out each time.

  2. It sounds like that's simply spam...spam is WAY more common than viruses on Facebook. This sort of thing is pretty well maintained on FB.

As for the virus, it definitely is possible on Facebook. A person on my friend's list once sent me a wall post with a link to what looked like a phishing site...when I checked their recent activity, it said they had sent it to every single person on their friends list! When I asked them about it, they said it was indeed a virus. But I think this only happened because they logged into a site OUTSIDE of facebook that hacked into their account, or something. Facebook is generally quite safe, in terms of computer viruses.

    Hope this helped!
