I am having an issue with waking up to early (3 three 4 times a week).

I am taking St.Johns Wort plus these vitamins Flax Seed Pills (w Omega 3), Vitamin D and Valerian root. I'm wondering if its the St. Johns Wort because I started that about a month ago and it does help me stay calm and less moody.

  1. Vitamins DO NOT cause insomnia.  You can take them whenever it's convenient for you.  The St. Johns Wort, the Flax seed, the Vitamin D, and of course Valerian root, definitely don't cause restless sleep either.  Something else is the cause.

    Edited:

Unless you are taking more than the suggested dosage, the vitamins are NOT the cause.  Only excessively high doses can cause insomnia.

  2. Take vitamins in the morning.  Never at night; because it will cause insomnia.

You should take Valerian root and St.Johns Wort at bedtime.  Makes me sleep like a baby.

The person who posted below me doesn't know what they're talking about regarding insomnia.  Do some research "♫Aye♫Aye".

  3. Vitamins CAN cause insomnia, especially vitamin C.

St. John's Wort shouldn't, nor should Valerian. Those have a calming effect.

However, we are all different and react differently to products.

Coffee makes me sleep and aspirin keeps me awake. Go figure! Maybe you're like me?
