I, like a lot of the population, hate running with a passion. I have been a runner (jogger) in the past, but I eventually stopped because I still dread that run every day. I do, however, love riding my bike, walking, and ocassionally hiking. Im not currently out of shape, I would just like to tone my thighs and butt area. Is it possible to do so through biking/walking? If so, about how much walking/biking would it require?

  1. ABSOLUTELY.

However, you have to ride a lot to really get in shape. Sprinting uphill as well as downhill can work your legs. Riding hills can strengthen your body. To get the full workout, try to stand as long as you can while pedaling. legs Riding also helps with stamina. I find it works differently than running.

  2. If you love riding I highly recommend it. You can tailor a work out to fit your needs. It's fun and doesn't beat you up like running can. The good thing is biking works your legs, butt and cardio system very well. Just what you are wanting.
