Can water be used as paint thinner?

we want to make water based paints for coating in steel surface(steel almirahs) and wooden doors and windows. Give us formulations please?

I endorse the above answerer, yes you can If you are making water based paints. In India all major paint manufacturers are making water based paints for walls, particularly for interiors. Asian paints, ICI Dulux are the leading names.

You have asked for formulations! Do you think such formulations are available just like that. These manufacturers are spending plenty of money on R&D, JV, technical know-how etc. and you can simply take away such things on Y!A?!
