Can we actually be living in the past?

What with space-time and all that jazz... It blows my mind thinking about that stuff but it seems that anything is possible now and our minds really can't even begin to comprehend the possibilities out there.

And yes I know that when we look at the night sky, all those stars are actually older now then when we see them because of the time it takes the light to get here.

I know it's a weird question... Probably a stupid one too but this whole space-time bending thing is crazy. Could we actually be in the past? Is this the oldest that the universe has ever been?

  1. No.  We are living in the present.  Some of us were living in the past, the number depending on how far in the past you specify.  If you go back far enough, none of us were living in the past, but our ancestors were.

  2. evry second of our life at one point  will be the present past and future

so as im typing this its the present

by the time i press submit the time i iam living in now and typing in will be the past in a few seconds

  3. yes we live through memory, on some level we are walking backwards through time

  4. wow interesting and deep question to fathom!

  5. No, whenever we are living, is defined as the present.

Or are you asking if the future has already happened?  Well, that would make it not the future, but the past,  Or, at least, past, present and future would be meaningless words.  Which they very well might be.

  6. i don't think that is a plausible theory.

  7. You are creating a false dicotomy where a three-part manifold actually rests...the past is cut off from the future by the present...did you not know that?

  8. I think that it is a definite possibility that we are living in the past.
