Question:

Can we all agree the republican party is the most out of touch?

the very ideals the party is based on (i'm talking post 60's) are completely out of touch with today's issues.

religion is my first example. since when did the christian agenda dictate laws such as abortion rights and g*y marriage.

patriotism, blind patriotism to be exact. why is it that you can't be critical of your country AND be a patriot. to speak out against this war is like blasphemy to many republicans.

don't even get me started on republican foreign policy. the US is completely incapable of being independent, yet republicans think the world's opinion of us is completely irrelevant.

god forbid (no pun intended) republicans pay as much attention to science as they do their religion. of course our science trumps their religion when they need a heart transplant.

is it time for republicans to reform their 'ideas' of how america should be?

  1. Oh, yes we can, definitely.  I have read the responses on here and the conservatives are taking a pompous attitude to taking a look in the mirror.  It is pig headed and dangerous to think you are never wrong.  The world is changing and they refuse to change with it.  I can see it most in that the world is trying to make advances in areas of cleaner energy/environment and communication with foreign nations.  We are clearly falling behind in this and the more we continue down this path, this country will look like the school bully without brains.  A progressive movement is likely the only thing that will save this country in the long run.  The socialistic argument is becoming a soundbyte to these people, however they don't really understand what it means.

  2. The democrats are basing their comeback on the republicans being out of touch! It seems to be an american institution to earn one's credibility on the incredibility of another. That leaves the other party more desperate than ever to prove their position is justified. To coin a phrase,"same as it ever was."

  3. It's becoming ever harder for me to remain in the Democratic party in part because of the recent popularity of straw-man arguments. You have not listed any Republican positions but rather a rather peculiar postition you'd like for them to have so you can bash them. A bit less vituperation and a bit more analysis would be a better way to make your points, if you have any.

  4. No.  I think you are out of touch.  Socialism is a failed system.  Look around the world to China, Old Soviet Union and list goes on.  People want to be able to work and prosper, without govt. interference.

  5. It's not the Republicans or the Democrats, it's the extremists at either end. I am a conservative in fiscal matters and middle of the road on social issues and I don't think that either party's candidate truly represents a majority.

By the time you have reached the level of a national candidate, you have sold you soul to the party that you represent and to every special interest along the way. The founding fathers are rolling in their graves.

  6. Im just wondering, what laws based on religion are you talking about ?

You cannot say abortion, because a fetus, has a heart beat, its hard to say they are not living.

As to g*y marriage, how do you explain, g*y marriages being made illegal, by every state in the country ?

Even the liberal states like Mass ?

Are you saying republicans passed those laws ?

Whats wrong with republican foreign policy ?

I didn't see republicans get america involved in WW l, WW ll, Korean war, vietnam war.

Or attack, bomb or invade six countries on four separate continents like Clinton did, all without Congressional or UN approval.

    .........................................

But you say out of touch ??

90% of american want drilling for oil openned up in america,

But the democratic party, says no way

Now who sounds out of touch here ?

  7. Are you like...10?

Abortion rights don't have to be religious...just moral. I can see how moral you are. Thanks :)

  8. no. those are their beleifs on how this country should be run. one might say that your beliefs are outdated and need reform.

  9. yes, they are out of touch and out of office after this election, yeah baby!

  10. I am gonna go with komatzuman on this one!  Less BS that way

  11. let me start by saying no and end it there also

  12. Ugh.............................NO !

  13. As an atheist, therefore, as a person who thinks rationally unlike some other people...I agree with absolutely everything you just said...which is surprising since I often like to disagree with people for fun....so I dont know what else to say except.....I agree 100%...

Unfortunately there ARE a lot of clueless religious conservative people who STILL thinks that religion matters....or that god actually exists...talk about a popular choice for imaginary friend.
