  1. several years back I worked for a company which produced products English and Dutch if one was cheaper then they substituted it! how do any of us know where stuff comes from if its cheap enough people will buy it!!!

  2. What the *** is wrong with produce from Africa? Deseased, war-torn and raped, right? Dummy.

  3. not when they pay the workers something like 10p a day for all their labour in the fields, no i dont think we can.

  4. They are already doing it especially from South Africa I don't see anything wrong with that.

  5. it's in your hands - if all consumers don't buy these imported products, be it fruit, vegetables, non-food; then the supermarket will realise that and buy less of them. and maybe even stop buying them if cost and profit don't fit anymore.

but that only works if everybody does it.

as long as some people buy these imported things because they are cheaper, they will be there in the supermarket around the corner.

it's up to your conscience if you can live with it.

  6. No!  I shop the local produce section or in the warmer months of Ohio I go to the farmers markets.

  7. well we don't produce enough food to not bring it in from other places around the world so i don't think we've really got much choice on the matter.  Also if we want cheap food then it will come from Africa.

If we were to stop bringing in food from Africa it would have a negative effect on the continent.  We are giving people jobs and money which they desperately need, maybe we shoudl pay them a little more but thats all.
