  1. It's not going to help you much they take what they want

buy from private owner there at least $500 cheeper

  2. it never hurts to try i would try it i am sure they will even if the price is fixed i own a dealership trust me it works on me lol

  3. what ever you "bargain" you will always pay more because the seller has to make a profit. What you think is a good deal really is not. don't be discouraged, get the car you WANT, not what is affordable.

  4. You can always barter with the dealer for a lower price.

  5. Every car dealer I have ever faced will lower the price if you dicker. Don't be afraid to offer 25% less than what he's asking because there's that much fat in the price, guaranteed. Get him close to what you want to pay, then get up and walk out. He will not let you leave his dealership ! I've purchased 10 new cars, 4 pickups, and three motorcycles, so I know what I'm saying is true. Don't appear over anxious to settle. Play hard to get. Use one dealer against another.

And never talk about anything other than the price of the car. Forget interest rates of financing and monthly payments. Nail down the cost of the car, then arrange your loan. That also can be negotiated.

  6. I hve bargained and gotten thousands off the MSRP, and other times only got a few hundred taken off. I think the key is to be friendly but informed.

My dad buys cars for his business every few years, and his system is to fax an offer to several dealers and see if they are interested. He hates talking to salesmen, so he only includes his fax number. Once he has found a dealer to accept the offer, he goes in to pay.

He's the only person I know who uses that system, but it seems to work pretty well for him.

I just try to find what the dealer invoice price is, and make a first offer near that. It gives a good bargaining point and shows you did your homework. Remember to be friendly and pleasant. Being a jerk will cost you money, not save any.
