  1. actually i know some people down here in virginia that own 3 zebras!

  2. For starters, Giraffes aren't even in the same family as horses and zebras. Horses and zebras are part of the Equus (equine) family.. I'm not sure what Giraffes are considered but they're not equines ;).

You can own Zebras in some parts of the United States. There's a farm up the road from me a little ways that has three of them.

  3. I know a guy that has a lion, so I'm pretty sure you can get a giraffe of zebra somehow -- not that I'd actually want one. I'm sure it's a c**p load of work!

  4. no. since they are wild animals.

wild animals are not allowed to be sell or to be buyed.

  5. They would certainly be classified as an exotic pet. Therefore there are laws to protect them and you'd need to jump through hoops to get permission to have one. You need to prove it would be in the animals best interest and that you can afford to and know how to take proper care of one...most residences cannot assure proper facilities/resources.

  6. I would have to say no to the Giraffe because they need to live in a resevore or in the wild. They feed on very large trees that I doubt you have available because it takes forever for them to grow. A zebra would be a little bit easier to get. Think of it like this- a zebra is just a horse with stripes. Nothing more, Nothing less! If you go to ww.dreamhorse.com and click on advanced search and select the breed Zebra it will show some of them. Another suggestion instead of a zebra is a Zorse. A Zorse is half zebra/half horse. Here is a picture-

Zorse's are very common and they are just so Cute! You still get the exotic feel in this wonderful breed but you also get a regular horse!

    I hope I helped!

  7. PLEASE, no...

And who told you that giraffes and zebras are the same species?  They're both ungulates...and that's about it.  Ungulates are an order, not a species!

  8. you can purchase, or adopt any kind of wild animal like a zebra, or a giraffe...  you just have to have a license or permission from the state your in.

Many wealthy people have practically their own zoo's in there backyard's!

  9. call me crazy, but I think it may have something to do with the fact that they r wild animals

  10. I would contact your state law officials. You have more of a chance of getting a zebra then a giraffe!

  11. actually you can buy zebras, but they are a lot more pricier than horses and shorter too! you can buy a zorse too, thats a mix between a horse and zebra. Idk if you can buy a giraffe, its really not the same as a horse. And its a lot larger too, how would it be transported...... My friend was thinking about buying a zebra actually, but they are expensive and harder to train than regular horses.... You can buy kangeroos though!!! how awesome is that!?!?!

  12. I expect you can somwhere in the world.

Probably in Asia or somewhere like that, where they are really common.

    LoL.

    Just shop around :D

  13. you can buy them a little zoo went out of business a little while ago and were selling there animals but i know for a fact that you need a permit to own them so yes you can buy zebra and giraffe

  14. Difference - Horse = domesticated and Zebra = Wild.  Although you CAN purchase a zebra, you have to have a permit to keep wild animals in your state, county or city.

  15. definetly you can buy. Why not?

But first you have to be a super model. star or Owner of any country etc.

On second thought as you didnt mentioned...:) you can buy plastic Animals as well.

A normal man can buy horses and *** and what so ever ..because they can be used for some specific purposes and can be looked after in urban conditions,,,this is not true for wild animals like Giraffe etc

    :)

  16. check the International Convention of Washington 1973

  17. well it probs coz they are wild animals! ! !

  18. You can buy a giraffe you just have to do 250 hours of volunteer work at a zoo within a 2 year time span with the giraffes...I'm not sure about zebras. The only reason I know this is because my barn owner is obsessed with giraffe's and she is working on her 250  hours so she go and buy herself a freaking giraffe. So it isn't impossible there is just some leg work before you are knowledgeable to have one.

  19. In todays world you can buy a man then why not animals???

don't worry just buy it now

  20. I'm sure they would both need permits becuase they're exotic pets, but I have driven by stables where I've seen a zebra before. I'm not sure if they are used for riding or breeding or what, but I do know that they are MEAN animals in general, not friendly at all. That may be why more people don't have them. People probably don't have giraffes because it would be obviously rediculously hard to meet their standards of living.

  21. You can.  They sell them at Exotic Auctions. Of course you have to have special liscencing to own them, and special fencing.

There are privately owned exotic game ranches all over Texas
