  1. I am a feminist and always will be.   I don't know a single 'radical (militant) feminist'.   I bet you don't either.

Why post a question that will allow a bunch of idiots to post defamatory comments towards women?

Since you believe you know some, you should be able to list the characteristics you deem radical- why ask?

Those of us who have been here for a couple of years know what we believe.   I don't involve myself with radical feminism and I have lived a long life.

  2. I think you are confused about the different types of feminism.

A militant feminist would surely be one who advocates militant, or violent action.  Since radical feminists believe women are not violent, they themselves would not advocate any sort of militancy.  Radical feminists also believe in completely women only societies, so unless your friends are living in single s*x communes, they are not genuine radical L*****n seperatists either.  The fact is, militant, radical and extreme feminists don't really exist outside of the over-stimulated imaginations of some anti-feminists  :-)

  3. Militant feminists hate men and show it by supporting sexist laws like VAWA.   A non militant feminist would demand that it be called Violence Against People Act.

  4. But yet you have to ask yourself this. Are we as a society supporting militant feminist? Think about all the things that do. There are video games like Tomb Raider, Prince of Persia and other games that show militant women shooting and killing the bay "guy" who almost always happens to be a man.

  5. The definition of Feminist changes depending on who you ask.

The difference between feminist and militant feminists are the shoes,

feminist have flat practical shoes, militant feminists wear combat boots.

  6. " Attain our goals , however unreasonable , at any cost .All others be damned !! "

  7. absolutely not

  8. I believe the definition of a feminist is simply someone who believes women deserve equal rights and equal treatment.  A militant feminist, to me, is someone who finds discrimination where there is none, or who assumes that anytime things don't go her way they are due to her gender.

    I'm a non-militant feminist. :o)

  9. In MY opinion:

A Feminist is someone who wants equality for women, and the laws to support and ensure that equality. They speak their mind and explain their beliefs to everyone they know and love and their community.

They raise their children with the idea of equality for all. They are not out to destroy men or be the superior gender.  (I am so freakin tired of explaining this)

A militant feminist is a feminist who gets off her *** and actually goes to rallies, demonstrations, boycotts companies, pickets outside offending businesses, lobbys in washington, etc.  Militant feminists DO it, not just wish for it, talk about it, and wait for others to do it.

This pisses men (and some women) off.  Too bad.  I WISH I was more militant back in the 70's and 80's.  I give those women lots of credit.

They are the shakers and movers of the Feminist movement. Without the radicals and militant feminists, the movement would have died a long time ago!

Without those "militant feminists", we wouldn't even have gotten the d**n VOTE only 88 short years ago!

  10. What is a militant feminist? They are people who support laws that discriminate against men i.e. they are people who call themselves moderate feminists. Anybody who doesn't have issues with men doesn't call themselves a feminist these days because its all too clear that the feminist movement was hijacked by the militants long ago. Just think about it for a second: radicals like Dworkin and McKinnon have managed to change laws - doesn't this just show how mainstream radical feminism has become? We wouldn't have laws like VAWA supported by many 'mainstream' feminists if radicalism hadn't become the norm long ago.

Feminist bigots still insult our intelligence by calling themselves moderate feminists. You see this sort of feminist hypocrisy all the time in government, the law, academia, the media... you name it, feminist two-faced bigotry is all around us. Perhaps the fact that so many bigots call themselves moderates just shows you how ordinary prejudice against men has become.

    Edit

Perhaps some of these unhappy gals even half-believe that they are only for equality? Orwell described something similar as 'doublethink' - believing that two opposing ideas are true without seeing the contradiction. This is perhaps the kindest way to explain someone whose position is to support anti-male laws while claiming that they don't have issues with men.
