My husband cracked the tank part of the toilet after he tighten down new plumbing supplies "guts" in to it b/c it was running . Do we need to replace the tank or is there some type of glue that we can put on the little crack?

  1. Um i do not think so you'll have to buy a new potty.

  2. Since the tank is clay fired with a coating to make porcelain, no.  But if you go to Lowe's or Home Depot, you should be able to buy just the tank.

  3. It is probably the best to purchase a new one. If by chance the crack is on the outer surface of the toilet you can buy a epoxy glue to repair the small outer crack. Check your local hardware store for the correct one to buy as there are few different for the types of material you are repairing.

If I had a pic of the crack I could better advise you.

  4. Would you like to come home one day with the interior of your home a wading pool?

OK, maybe that would be cool in Hawaii... but if the tank were to leak, the water won't stop since the float can't stay at the top of the tank.

  5. if you got it from lowes are home depot just take it back, if it just have a hair line crack, try to return it if they do not take it just buy another

  6. China cannot be repaired to a point it will not leak. You are talking about cast iron with porcelain outside. Sorry, but it will have to be replaced.
