Question:

Can we get our license in one county and get married in another?

My guy and I live on Long Island, Suffolk county but want to get married in Nassau county. Is this possible? I don't see why not but my guy is unsure about it.

  2. no the ceremony must be performed in the county that the license was issued.

  4. Yes I'm pretty sure. In my state that is perfectly acceptable since its a state-issued license and has nothing to do with the county.  

  5. it doesnt matter where you get married, cause you have it noterized, and take it back to ny, and as long it is done legaly, they have to accept it

  7. A couple who intends to be married in New York State must apply in person for a marriage license to any town or city clerk in the state.

  8. As long as it is in the same state i don't see any problem with it at all.  all they are going to ask is that you are residents of the US.. it doesn't matter where you live or get married.  just get you marriage license from that county.

    Example many go to Vegas just to get married all the time and many don't live there at all
