Can we get reimbursed for gas after we travel to TN to meet foster kids?

My husband and I recently traveled to TN from NC to meet potential foster kids. They were a perfect fit, however, after we left, their kinship foster home decided to go ahead and adopt them. We've been really upset, as we spent all of Memorial Day weekend with them, paid for gas and hotel. Is there any way we can be reimbursed for any of this?

  1. THINK OF IT POSITIVELY, YOU MAY HAVE MADE A BIG DIFFERENCE IS THE CHILD(RENS) LIVES. I WOULD THINK THAT THERE WOULD BE NO REIMBURSEMENT.

  2. No, unfortunately lot.  At least I don't think so, but you might ask the caseworker...... I am a former CPS caseworker, so sorry this happened to you :(

  3. You can ask your caseworker, but probably not.

  4. I bet those kids would feel really wonderful if they knew you were crying about 'expenses' because you didn't get your prize.

    My god, you are cheap.

And yet adoption is all about the children, isn't it?
