Question:

Can we give each other a little of leeway here?

Do not erase records. Do not erase links and contacts. Do not erase Q's. Do not erase A's. We may have opinions that we defend more or less vehemently. Massive Interpretation Errors (MIE) do occur as do slip-ups. But this is intended to enlighten through different views, not one belief rules all. If we can't do this here, I'd say democracy will meet demise faster than polar ice caps.

  1. Is someone erasing your posts?

  2. I wish people would give each other leeway on here, but sadly they don't. Then there's the automatic deletion system on here that I feel needs to give a bit more leeway too.

  3. I don't mind seeing blatant name-calling get nuked but some of the deletions lately have seemed odd.

If you're referring to the United States, we live in a republic.  We elect people to make most decisions for us, while other people simply pay them to ignore us.  It's a great system as long as you're on the side with the money.

I doubt that "democracy will meet demise" just because some people on Yahoo Answers might have a low threshold for what they choose to report.  It's frustrating to have a question and thoughtful answers deleted, but it encourages a high standard of conduct, so overall it probably improves the exchange, focusing the conversation on the topic at hand.

I'm not defending any particular deletion (I spent some time answering one interesting question only to discover it was nuked), just stating a general opinion that restraint might benefit the exchange.

  4. do you have anyone that despises you?
