Can we go for journalism without going to college straight after our +2 ?

i am interested in going in for journalism . i would like to know if i will have to have finished my college,i.e.,my third year in college or can i just join in straight for journalism after my class 12 . do i need a degree before going in for my journalism course. is it necessary for me to be a graduate.
