Can we google a picture?

Question

I know we can type a name, google it, and get all the information on that name.

But if I have a photo of a person, and do not know who that is, is there any way to google it to find out who that is, etc.

Is there another way to find out more about a photo?

if it's  picture with a unique file name like 03a3sF3003.jpg then you can type that into images.google.com and see if you can find the homepage where it's from.  there's also what's called "meta data" in photos and some photographers add names and dates to that file.  unlikely though since most people don't modify meta data.

Yes!  There is an awesome new site called TinEye.  It matches pictures based on the image itself, not just the file name or other words on the page.  It's still new so the image may or may not be in their database, but you should give it a shot anyway.
