Can we honestly reverse the damage caused by global warming?

If a good majority of people decided to follow some moral guidelines to stop global warming, would it eventually reverse the trend or is it too late, the damage is already done?

  1. You assume that there has been damage done. 0.6° C over a century or so is not damage. Ice melts and glaciers retreat in predictable natural cycles. The earth warms and cools in natural cycles with or without humans. We probably can’t reverse what nature does.

  2. Considering that the surface temperature of Mars had an equal rise to that of the Earth, and also considering that the past couple of years, the Earth has cooled ever so slightly, it is reasonable to suggest that global warming is a cyclical event that we have no control over.

  3. Keeping into view the increasing population on earth and the ever increasing use of fuels and coals, even if majority of the people follow moral guidelines to protect the environment, still the increased population on earth would be exerting the more or less the same amount of temperature rise. So i am not optimistic of any reverse going in the trend of global warming.

  4. i think we can reverse it......u no by not wasting stuff....

  5. I think you must look first that global warming may just be a cycle which the earth goes through every 10,000 years or so which scientist have proven somewhat. But at the same time you cant ignore the fact that the earth has been warming even faster since the beginning of the industrial revolution. As for stopping it, dont think its possible if it was people that caused it then i guess you have to look at it as out of control seein how it would take something like 200 years for the earth to naturally heal itself by removing harmful carbon admissions from the ozone, in which cause too much damage would have already been done... So in conclusion....hope its a natural thing so our kids dont pay for our mistakes and our parents mistakes.

  6. reverse it? Dude, you presuppose that humans are causing it, which has never been proven. Try not to get caught up in the mob mentality, led by reverend Gore.

  7. No, we cannot change the behavior of the star that's 93 million miles away.  (The sun)

Does your Mommy dress you in the morning, too?

  8. A mass human die-off due to a pandemic should do the trick.

Nature is pretty resilient.  Its not that we are doing damage to nature, its just that we KEEP doing damage to nature constantly and that constant damage keeps increasing.

Give nature a few decades of rest and it recovers.

  9. It isn't a moral issue!

It is not immoral to go about your regular life like everyone else in the world!

Global warming is a VERY subtle and complex problem that was not created by evil people on purpose! It was not even accidentally created by greedy people who just don't care. It is the tertiary effect of many secondary effects of countless technological, industrial, political, and social forces in the world, NONE of which are really under control of any person or group of people of even group of nations.

  10. 1)  We have no power over the climate of the planet.  We could all still be painting on cave walls with clay and the planet would have STILL warmed nearly as much.  Even by the IPCC's admissions, we're only a partial contributor at best.

    2)  I fail to see damage.  Where is it?  The ice is melting to expose virgin, fertile soil.  If you like ice so much, you're going to LOVE the next Ice Age...
