i really want to lessen the expenses as much as possible. because in a church wedding there's a fee for use of church about 15k-25k. But as you know, in most Pinoy weddings, the people you invite only attend the reception and not the wedding ceremony..haha!

  1. Hi.  A catholic priest will only marry couples IN the church.  Where on earth do you get the $15K-$25K dollar amount to use the church?

That is absolutely nonsense.  There is no Catholic Church on this planet that charges that.  Some (like where I live), do not charge you anything if you are already a member of that parish.  IF you are not a member, there may be a fee of $100...maybe up to $500, but definitely not $15K-$25K.

  2. Ask the priest.  Catholic priests except in a few exceptions can only marry couples in the church.

  3. Well a catholic priest typically will not preform weddings outside of the church. Also if you do intend to "invite" an officiant to the reception be careful how you do it. An invitation usually includes no expectations of free labour.

  4. No, priests can usually only perform the marriage on sacred ground as in a church.

You can however, invite the priest to the reception (if he is close to you family) and have him say the blessing before the meal.

I was married in a civil ceremony in the reception hall, but I invited my family priest whom I have known since I was 3 to come, and he did!  but my marriage was performed by a JP.

  5. there is an extremely small fee to use a catholic church.

  6. Yes you can why not
