Question:

Can we now, finally, stop comparing Hatton to Cotto ?

Cotto is in a different class than Hatton and I'm not talking weight! Pun intended!

It's just that a few pundits have used Ricky's performance against PBF to predict a similar outcome for Cotto. They are not the same type of fighter's at all!

  1. its funny how people think floyd would beat cotto because floyd beat hatton.

  2. No offense, but I've never heard anyone, EVER, compare Hatton to Cotto - in any regard.

Cotto and Hatton are two totally different types of fighters.

  3. Hatton is more of a folk hero than true champion.

  4. Cotto is far more skilled than hatton. I have respect for Ricky because he really seams like a down to earth guy but to I was never really sold on Ricky to begin with. The first fight i ever seen of Ricky Hatton was the Luis Collozo fight. Looking back at that fight i remember thinking "and that's it" almost like is this the guy you were talking about. After beating Kosta Tyzu Hattons whole career was promoted on the fact that HBO thought he was the guy to beat Floyd Mayweather. I remember there was a ring magazine cover that said "forget Judah we want Hatton vs Mayweather" and then once the fight happened he was outclassed. Ricky Hatton in my own personal opinion is a product of the media he is a guy the pubic likes and that's why he has gotten were he is. He beat Lazcano Saturday but if you watch the fight Hatton was the guy getting hurt most of the time. Ricky should just stay in England fighting his hand picked opponents because the big boys Mayweather,Cotto,Mosley aren't for him that's why he moved back to Jr welterweight(easy-er competition) I wouldn't be surprised if Clazaghe did the same thing.
