To take side with the righteous or the exploited during a clash is understandable, but then check if your past records had been clean when taken sides.

If you have oppressed rights to break away in your own territory, committed similar crime of invading a foreign country or closed your eyes to similar violations of your (so called) allies; this this is certainly none-of-(y)our-business.
