Can we really afford the US budget?

Do the math. There's a $3 trillion dollar budget. 300million people living in the USA. That's $10K for every man, woman, and child, legal and illegal living in the USA. Surely you'd think that was enough. Personally I think that is too much to pay for what we are getting. And it very well may be. After all Congress just passed the budget and they already know they are going to come up short.

Is it time to replace lawyers in Congress with CPAs so we can balance the books?

  1. yes

  2. Obviously we can't? We are so addicted to consumption that we have sold our children's  wealth to China.  Somebody needs to take away the national credit card and put this nation on a strict budget.

  3. *We* can afford it.  The problem is that our children and grandchildren won't be able to bear the burden we are putting on them.

  4. Clinton did NOT balance the budget. The government plays a shell game with three separate books. The budget hasn't been balanced for decades.

  5. Clinton did that whole balance the budget thing

They tried to impeach him for lying about a BJ

Bush runs the country into the ground and runs up debt like a drunken w***e, starts pointless unnecessary wars, and he doesn't even get a censure.

    Go figure.

  6. • The federal debt is now more than $9 trillion -- more than $30,000 for every man, woman and child in the country.

    • Interest payments alone top $400 billion a year.

    • Annual federal deficits are more than $400 billion a year.

No, we cannot afford the US budget.

  7. No. It has to be managed better.
