  1. I takes an hour and a half, full out in a power boat.So this is a bad idea.

  2. i dont see why not...  need a canoe??   look around if a summer camp will rent you one..

  3. I don't think so, unless you're some sort of Olympic athlete. It's over 26 miles, and it's too choppy for a scull. A canoe might make it, but you'd probably swamp.

  4. No you can't canoe from Long Beach to Catalina.  Its 27 miles of open ocean.  Take the Catalina Express then rent a kayak in Two Harbors or somewhere along the isthmus.  Avalon is always super crowded.

  5. The native Americans did it.  But it was a hugh canoe with 12 to 20 folks rowing it.   I do not think you can rent a canoe to makethe 20 or so mile trip in rough seas.

  6. Most places just rent kayaks and it is per hour. They aren't sea worthy enough to go on a trip like that.

The place below rents kayaks. Call them and ask if they know of a canoe rental.

Your problem is going to be the fact that you will not be able to row back before the business closes for the evening.
